Live event streaming can be especially challenging. Through years of experience with Thoroughbred racing, SelectNet has developed an understanding of the critical nature of this type of service. But each event is different, with its own set of challenges.

SelectNet streams both Real Networks and Windows Media live content. Typically, we take the video and/or audio signal from a satellite feed, encode it and point it to our video servers. However, some of our customers elect to encode their own live broadcast and point it to our servers from their remote location. This works only for low bandwidth encoding, since the remote location would need to have a high speed connection to the Internet (T3, T1, DSL, or Cable Modem).
